The Mets acquired left-handed reliever Felix Heredia from the New York Yankees in exchange for Mike Stanton prior to the 2005 season. Heredia made his Met debut on April 7, throwing one inning of scoreless relief in the Mets 6-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. He would appear in just two more games for the Mets before an arm injury sidelined him for the season. In his three appearances, he pitched 2 2/3 innings and allowed one hit and no earned runs.
Following the season Heredia signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks but he never appeared in another Major League game.
While with the Mets Heredia wore number 49.
