Claudio Vargas – His New York Mets Career 2008

Clauidio VargasAfter signing as a free agent on April 11,2008 right-handed pitcher Claudio Vargas made his Met debut on May 14 against the Washington Nationals.  Despite allowing just two runs and three hits over 6 1/3 innings he lost the game.  Vargas would start three more games for the Mets before being moved to the bullpen.  At the time of the move his record was 2-2.  He appeared in seven games out of the bullpen before being demoted to the minors.  Vargas finished the season pitching for the New Orleans Zephyrs, the Mets triple A affiliate,

Following the season Claudio Vargas signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Dodgers.  In 11 games for the Mets Vargas was 3-2 with 4.62 ERA.

While with the Mets Vargas wore number 39.
