Ronny Paulino – His New York Mets Career 2011

Ronny PaulinoThe Mets signed catcher Ronny Paulino as a free agent on December 7,2010.  After starting the 2011 season in the minors he was recalled at the end of April and made his Met debut as a pinch hitter for pitcher Tim Byrdak on April 29th against the Philadelphia Phillies.  For the record, he grounded out to third.  Two days later as the starting catcher Paulino went 5 for 7 and drove in the winning run with a double in the 14th inning as the Mets defeated the Phillies 2-1.

Paulino stayed with the Mets for the remainder of the season appearing in 78 games.  He hit .268 with 2 home runs and 19 RBIs.  He had two other games where he amassed 4 hits, June 8th against the Milwaukee Brewers where he also hit his first home run as a Met (a 3-run shot) and June 29th against the Detroit Tigers. 

Following the season Paulino signed as a free agent with the Baltimore Orioles.

While with the Mets Paulino wore number 9.
