The Mets signed left-handed pitcher John Lannan as a free agent on January 18, 2014. He made his Met debut on Opening Day against the Washington Nationals and allowed 2 runs over a 1/3 of an inning. Lannan would appear in 4 more games for the Mets before he was demoted to the minors where he finished out the season. At the time of his demotion he was 1-0 with a 15.75 ERA. His only win came against the Los Angeles Angels on April 12 when he pitched the final 2 innings in the Mets 7-6 extra inning win.
Following the season, he signed with the Colorado Rockies as a free agent.
