Gonzalez Germen – His New York Mets Career 2013,2014

gonzalez germenSigned by the Mets as an amateur free agent in 2007, right-handed pitcher Gonzalez Germen spent 6 seasons in the minors before making his Major League debut on July 12, 2013.  He was the losing pitcher in the Mets 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates, he pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed the winning run to score in the bottom of the 11th.  Germen would go onto appear in 29 games for the Mets all out of the bullpen, posting a 1-2 record with 1 save and a 3.93 ERA.  His first major league victory occurred on July 20, 2013 when he pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief against the Philadelphia Phillies.  His only save of the season came against the San Diego Padres on August 15 when he pitched the final two innings of the Mets 4-1 victory allowing zero runs and striking out 3.

Germen made the Mets Opening Day roster in 2014 and would go on to appear in 25 games posting a 0-0 record with a 4.75 ERA.

Following the season the Mets sold Germen to the New York Yankees.

In parts of two seasons with the Mets, Germen appeared in 54 games and posted a 1-2 record with 1 save and a 4.31 ERA in 64 2/3 innings.

While with the Mets Germen wore number 71.
