After spending six seasons in the Mets minor league system outfielder Terry McDaniel finally got the call to the big leagues when he was brought up to the big club at the end of the 1991 season. He made his Major League debut on August 30th entering the game in the 8th inning as a defensive replacement. The next day he got his first major league hit, a double which also drove in a run, for his first RBI. McDaniel would finish out the season with the Mets mainly as a defensive replacement and pinch hitter. In 23 games he hit just .207 with two RBIs.
Following the season, he was placed on waivers and was claimed by the Pittsburgh Pirates eventually finding his way to the Cincinnati Reds organization but would not make it back to the majors.
While with the Mets McDaniel wore number 0.
