The Mets acquired right-handed pitcher Kenny Greer from the New York Yankees on September 17, 1993 in exchange for fellow pitcher Frank Tanana. He made his Major League debut with the Mets on September 29 and was the winning pitcher in the Mets 1-0 17 inning victory over the St Louis Cardinals. He pitched a perfect top of the 17th striking out two batters.
It would be his only appearance in a Mets uniform. Greer spent the entire 1994 season in the Mets minor league system before signing with the San Francisco Giants as a free agent.
While with the Mets Greer wore number 35.
Kenny Greer also played for the San Francisco Giants in 1995.
