Andy Phillips – His New York Mets Career 2008

The Mets picked up first baseman Andy Phillips off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds on June 25, 2008.   He made his Mets debut on June 27 against the New York Yankees; in a game the Mets would win 15-6 Phillips pinch hit for David Wright in the 9th inning.  The next day Phillips was the starting left fielder and went 0-2.  He appeared in one more game for the Mets on June 30 and singled as a pinch hitter against the St Louis Cardinals.  Following the game, he was placed back on waivers and was reclaimed by the Cincinnati Reds.

In four games for the Mets Andy Phillips hit .200 (1 for 5).

While with the Mets Phillips wore number 29.
