Long Island native Frank Catalanotto was a 13-year veteran who was looking to play one more season when the Mets invited him to Spring Training in 2010. Catalanotto surprised everyone and had a solid spring and earned his way on to the Mets Opening Day roster. Unfortunately, his spring didn’t carry over to the regular season. Used primarily as a left handed pinch hitter Catalanotto struggled at the plate and was released in the middle of May ending his career. In 25 games for the Mets he hit .160 (4 for 25) with one RBI.
While with the Mets Catalanotto wore number 27.
