Greg Burke – His New York Mets Career 2013

Greg BurkeThe Mets signed right-handed pitcher Greg Burke as a minor league free agent on November 7, 2012. He made the Mets Opening Day roster and made his Met debut on April 3, 2013 giving up a run in 2/3 and inning in the Mets 8-4 win over the San Diego Padres. Burke would spend the season shuffling between the Mets and the Las Vegas 51s, the Mets top minor league club.

His most productive month with the Mets came during the month of May when he made 8 appearances allowing no earned runs in 7 2/3 innings

Burke would appear in a total of 32 games for the Mets in 2013, he went 0-3 with a 5.68 ERA, striking out 28 in 31.2 innings.

He was outrighted off the roster on October 17, 2013 and elected free agency.  He signed with the Colorado Rockies.  2013 would be his final season in the majors.

While with the Mets Burke wore number 46.

Greg Burke also played for the San Diego Padres in 2009.
