Scott Atchison a journeyman right-handed reliever was signed as a free agent by the Mets on January 29, 2013. He made his Mets debut on Opening Day 2013, pitching a 1-2-3 8th inning in the Mets 11-2 victory over the San Diego Padres.
He would go onto appear in 50 games for the Mets in 2013, all out of the bullpen while posting a 3-3 record with 4.37 ERA over 45 1/3 innings. His first win as a Met occurred on July 30 against the Miami Marlins. In a tie game he pitched a scoreless ninth inning, before the Mets scored 2 in the 10th to secure the win.
Following the season Atchison was granted free agency and he signed with the Cleveland Indians.
While with the Mets Atchison wore number 50.
