Kelly Shoppach – His New York Mets Career 2012

kelly shoppachThe Mets acquired catcher Kelly Shoppach from the Boston Red Sox on August 14, 2012 from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for pitcher Pedro Beato.  He made his Met debut on August 16th as the starting catcher against the Cincinnati Reds, he went 0 for 3.  He would go on to appear in 28 games for the Mets, hitting .203 with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs.  His most productive day with the Mets occurred on August 28th against the Philadelphia Phillies, he went 3 for 5 with a home run and 3 RBIs as the Mets won 9-5.

Following the season, he was granted free agency and signed with the Seattle Mariners.

While with the Mets Shoppach wore number 6.
