Andy Green – His New York Mets Career 2009

andy greenThe Mets signed infielder Andy Green as a free agent on July 2, 2008.  He immediately reported to the Mets Triple A affiliate the New Orleans Zephyrs where he hit .331 over 52 games.  He started the 2009 season in the minors before getting called up to New York in August.  He made his Met debut on August 17 as a pinch hitter for pitcher Nelson Figueroa, he walked.  He appeared in 3 more games and batted .250 (1 for 4) before returning to the minors.  Green stayed in the Met organization in 2010 but did not return to the majors.  He was released by the Mets on November 5,2010

While with the Mets Green wore number 29.

Andy Green also played for the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2004-2006.
