Dana Eveland, a journeyman left-handed pitcher, signed a minor league contract with the Mets prior to the 2014 season. After starting the season with the Mets Triple A affiliate, the Las Vegas 51s, Eveland made his Met debut on June 2 against the Philadelphia Phillies. He pitched 2/3 of an inning in the Mets 11-2 victory.
Eveland would go on to appear in 30 games for the Mets, all out of the bullpen, posting a 1-1 record with 1 save and 2.63 ERA. He earned his only save with the Mets on June 18 against the St. Louis Cardinals getting the final out in the Mets 3-2 victory. His only win as a Mets occurred on August 9 against the Philadelphia Phillies when he pitched a scoreless 10th inning in the Mets 2-1 victory.
Following the season Eveland signed a minor league contract with the Boston Red Sox.
While with the Mets Eveland wore number 61.
